Start Upcoming with Today

The Upcoming view with tasks grouped under Tomorrow and the following weekdays.

On this page

If you plan today and the next few days together, you don't have to switch between Today and Upcoming. Open Upcoming (g u), open the ⋯ menu in the page header and turn on Start with Today.

What Upcoming shows#

Upcoming then opens with Today's own groups, picked and grouped exactly as Today does it: Earlier, Today (with Morning and Afternoon if you use day parts), This Evening and Blocked. Tomorrow and the following days come after them, as before.

Each task is listed once. A task due tomorrow whose deadline has passed is under Earlier, as in Today, and not again under Tomorrow. Without filters, the Today part holds the same tasks as Today, so the numbers agree with Today and the sidebar. Upcoming's filters apply to the whole list.

Earlier works as in Today: Move all to today and Reschedule… in its header, and the group remembers on this device whether you folded it.

With a Today limit#

With a Today limit, the same tasks fill the slots as in Today. The others wait in the folded Waiting for a slot group before Tomorrow, with Take a slot in their menu. Tasks after today never take a slot. Done today and Close the day stay on Today, since Upcoming looks ahead.

Turning it off#

Select Start with Today again. The option is off until you turn it on, and your choice syncs to your other devices, also when you change it offline. Today itself doesn't change.

ot upcoming and the agent tools keep listing only the days after today; ask for Today and Upcoming by name to get both.
