Focus breaks, presets and noise

Small comforts of the Focus timer. Their settings are in Settings → General → Focus timer and follow your account to every device.
Breaks, sound and notifications#
Break reminder (off until you turn it on) shows a notice on any screen after 90 minutes of work without a break: Take a break starts a short break, Not now asks again after another 90 minutes. Pauses don't count as work.
Sound plays a short tone when a session or a break ends while the app is on screen. If the tab is in the background and you allowed notifications on this device, a system notification says the session is done; select it to come back to Focus.
Countdown presets#
In Countdown, Focus asks for a length before it starts. Your presets are buttons above the field: one tap starts that length, and the field still takes any length from 5 to 180 minutes.
You can keep up to four presets, each from 5 to 180 minutes; the default is 10, 20 and 40. Change them under Countdown presets. A value out of range is refused with the allowed range, and Reset brings back 10, 20 and 40.
A few more minutes#
When a Pomodoro or Countdown work session ends, +5 min and +15 min carry on with the same task for that long. It is still the same Pomodoro session, so the break that follows is the same one. The extra minutes are a new time entry; the time Focus waited for you is not logged.
The two buttons stay for 10 minutes after the end, and go once a break or the next session starts. If Start breaks automatically is on, they show while the break begins, and choosing one cancels that break. Flowtime and breaks have no extension.
Background noise#
Background noise plays white, pink or brown noise while you work. The app generates it on your device, so nothing is downloaded. It is off until you choose one.
The noise plays only while a work session runs, on any screen of the app, and fades out when you pause, take a break, finish or leave the session, and when you sign out. After a reload it starts with your next tap or key press. Noise on and Noise off in the Focus screen's menu turn it on (brown) or off quickly.
The Noise volume belongs to each device, so the laptop and the phone can differ; Preview plays the noise for a moment. The volume is not synced and is cleared when you sign out.
